Buying and selling vehicles safely
The vast majority of offers on voziti.eu are genuine. Still, fraudsters try their luck on every marketplace. These tips help you spot fake listings and complete a purchase or sale safely.
Tips for buyers
- See the vehicle in person and take a test drive before you pay. Never pay a deposit or “reservation fee” for a vehicle you have not seen.
- Check the documents: registration certificate, owner’s name and the VIN must match the vehicle. If possible, check its history (service book, roadworthiness inspection).
- Pay safely: ideally by bank transfer at handover or together at the bank. Never send money via cash transfer services, gift cards or cryptocurrency.
- Written contract: sign a purchase contract with the vehicle data, price and known defects. Logged-in users can download contract templates in their account (HR, DE, EN, IT).
- Meet somewhere safe – in daylight, in a public place and ideally not alone.
Tips for sellers
- Hand over the vehicle and papers only once the money is actually in your account – fake payment confirmations are a common trick.
- Do not accept overpayments with a request to refund the difference, or “buyers” who want the vehicle shipped abroad unseen via a forwarding agent.
- Never share security codes from text messages or emails, and do not open links to supposed payment or shipping pages.
- Allow a test drive only after seeing ID and a driving licence – and ride along.
Typical warning signs
- The price is far below market value.
- The seller is supposedly abroad and a viewing is not possible.
- Pressure to pay quickly or leave a deposit “because many people are interested”.
- You are pushed to switch to other channels at once, or asked for personal data and copies of ID documents.
Report a suspicious or illegal listing
Send the link to the listing (or the listing number) and a short description to info@voziti.eu. We review every report, remove the listing if necessary and inform the seller. If you have already suffered a loss, please also contact the police.
